In 2026, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) officially launched 5 full-time undergraduate admission methods, expanding opportunities for candidates nationwide. From talent-based admissions and international certificates to competency assessment exams and high school graduation scores, the 2K8 generation of candidates will have multiple options tailored to their academic strengths.

  1. INFORMATION ON ADMISSION METHODS
  2. Method 1: Talent-Based Admission

(1) Direct admission and priority consideration: Candidates who have won national or international awards in accordance with the current admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Institute.

(2) Admission based on competency profiles: Candidates must meet one of the following conditions: 

  1. a) Candidates who participated in the selection exams for national teams competing in international and regional Olympiads (in 2026, 2025, 2024) for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Computer Science; Candidates in the national team competing in the 2026 International Science and Engineering Fair. 
  2. b) Candidates who won consolation prizes in the national excellent student selection exam, participated in the national excellent student selection exam or won First, Second, Third, or Consolation prizes in the excellent student selection exam at the Provincial or Central City level in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Computer Science (candidates can register for admission to all majors and programs) or English (register for admission to majors and programs in the Business and Management group or the Journalism and Communications group) or Literature (register for admission to Journalism or Multimedia Communications). 
  3. c) Students from specialized high schools nationwide (specialized high schools affiliated with Provinces, Central Cities, and higher education institutions) or specialized tracks within key national high schools for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Computer Science (register for admission to all majors and programs) or English (register for admission to majors and programs in the Business and Management group or the Journalism and Communications group) or Literature (register for admission to Journalism or Multimedia Communications).
  4. Method 2: Admission based on international competency assessment certificates (SAT or ACT certificates)

Admission based on international competency assessment results requires an SAT score of 1130/1600 or higher or an ACT score of 25/36 or higher, valid within two years up to the admission date.

  1. Method 3: Admission based on the results of competency assessment and thinking assessment exams organized by Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Hanoi National University of Education.

Specifically: 

  1. a) Candidates with a 2026 competency assessment score from Ho Chi Minh City National University (APT) of 600 points or higher. 
  2. b) Candidates with a 2026 competency assessment score from Hanoi National University of Education (SPT) of 15 points or higher. 
  3. c) Candidates with a 2026 thinking assessment score from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (TSA) of 50 points or higher. 
  4. d) Candidates with a 2026 competency assessment score from Hanoi National University (HSA) of 75 points or higher.

Note: 

For the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University, candidates must select: 

Part 3 Science: Candidates must choose the combination with two subjects which are Physics and Chemistry. 

Part 3 English: Candidates are only allowed to register for admission to majors and programs in the Business and Management group or the Journalism and Communications group. For the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University of Education, candidates must register for subjects within the admission subject combinations of the Institute.

  1. Method 4: Admission based on a combination of international English certificates (IELTS, TOEFL) with high school academic records

Specifically, candidates must hold a valid international English certificate up to the admission date with an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher, a TOEFL iBT score of 65 or higher, or a TOEFL ITP score of 513 or higher.

Note: International English certificates taken via the Home Edition format will not be accepted.

  1. Method 5: Admission based on the 2026 High School Graduation Exam results with the subject combinations corresponding to the majors and programs of the Institute.
