Recently, the Faculty of Multimedia organized a field trip for students to YooTek Holdings, a Vietnamese technology company specializing in the research and application of core technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Virtual Reality (VR). The program was designed to help students gain practical exposure to how digital technologies are integrated into journalism and communications workflows.
During the visit, representatives from YooTek Holdings provided an overview of the company’s self-developed technology ecosystem. Several prominent “Make in Viet Nam” platforms were introduced in detail, including YooLife, a virtual reality social network, and YooStudio, a specialized content creation tool.
Through concrete data, demonstrations, and operating models, students had the opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the process of building virtual environments and understand how smart technology platforms and solutions operate in the market.
A key focus of the visit was digital transformation in the production of specialized media products. YooTek’s team of experts demonstrated how core technologies are applied to real-world projects. In particular, VR360 technology was highlighted as an effective tool for digitizing heritage sites and historical and cultural settings, thereby creating multidimensional interactive spaces.
By directly interacting with and experiencing the digital environments developed by the company, students were able to gain a clearer understanding of how storytelling is being transformed in modern journalism, where audiences are increasingly placed at the center of the information experience.
In addition to observing and experiencing the platforms, the program also included an open discussion session between students and YooTek’s professional team. The discussion focused on digital content production methods, the process of developing complete VR/AI/IoT projects, and current recruitment trends. Company representatives also provided practical advice on the fundamental professional skills students need to develop in order to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of the labor market.
The visit to YooTek Holdings served as an important practice-oriented academic activity of the Faculty of Multimedia. The program provided students with a first-hand perspective on the intersection between core technologies and journalism and communications practices, while helping them develop a clearer vision of their future career paths in the digital era.
